Self-Guided Journeys LIVE: Studio Zung and Shop Zung

During the Festival, NYCxDESIGN is building off of the virtual Self-Guided Journeys platform to present a series of LIVE studio visits. Through these visits, the NYC design community and the interested public will have the opportunity to visit a variety of design destinations and interact with local creative leaders. From surf boards to hand crafted turntables, marble sculptures, fixtures, and furniture; each piece tells a narrative of its own while collectively embodying Studio Zung’s philosophy of living well and intentionally.

See a display of original artworks from the legendary architect, Buckminster Fuller, an iconic tied-wired sculpture by Ruth Asawa, and a modern metal-mobile by Danish designer and steel smith, Toke Laurdisen.

Join Tommy Zung, Studio Zung’s principal and founder, as he navigates the stories behind each eclectic objet in their Shop, the philosophy to his practice at Studio Zung, and the unique relationship he had with Bucky, who ultimately shaped him into the architect he is today.
