During the Festival, NYCxDESIGN is building off of the virtual Self-Guided Journeys platform to present a series of LIVE studio visits. The Ancient Glacier Rock at 12th Street is a completely unique public meeting and leisure space blending nature with an urban setting. The Glacier is a remnant of the glaciers that formed Long Island. Over the years it had been severely neglected and defaced. Since its revitalization in 2019, the beloved Glacier now sits in a public plaza surrounded by converted warehouse buildings that have been reimagined as retail, food and beverage and creative office spaces. While you’re checking out the Ancient Glacier, enjoy offerings from ICONYC Brewing, Art Strong children’s art studio, Mover’s Bodega dance studio and Lupo Rosso pizzaria.
