“Prototype” by MOCK STUDIO

MOCK Studio Presents “Prototype” a selection of early work developed over the last 2 years during the studio’s formation, the event will be hosted at Based-In penthouse located at 49 Elizabeth Street.

The studio is focused on furniture installations inspired by an overtly reductivist design philosophy, some of the recurring themes in MOCK’s work are explorations of proportion, balance and scale, comfort and usability, seamlessness and solidity, homogeneity of surface, and the prioritization of process over product. Underlying most of the studios work is a pursuit for the every day, approachable objects fashioned using readily available materials and simple fabrication techniques. As the studio emerged out of a yearning for carefully considered and understated pieces, inspired by the principles of early modernism and Eastern minimalism, the ever-evolving work is intended as a commentary on what is possible with limited means.
