Ötzi by Nicole Wilson

The New York premiere of Ötzi, an exhibition by artist Nicole Wilson, originated in Boston in June 2021. It was praised by The Boston Globe as a “heartening exhibition [that] sweeps from 3300 BCE to 2021, hitting on touchstones along the way: mummies, tattoos, and the worth of a digital file.” Ötzi is considered the oldest tattooed human mummy yet discovered; 61 tattoos were found on Ötzi’s body, all in the form of lines or crosses. Three Kings Tattoo is the venue for the New York presentation, and it was also the original site of the artist’s tattooing. Visitors will be able to view artworks, acquire digital files, and book tattoo appointments at the exhibition.
