Madison Avenue Design Week, May 20-25. In partnership with NYCxDESIGN, please join us for the inaugural Madison Avenue Design Week on the Upper East Side with curated experiences, exhibitions, talks, bespoke collection viewings and in-store tours and festivities in 21 internationally renowned design and home furnishing stores, showrooms and galleries. Programming will take place on Madison Avenue (and its adjacent side streets) from East 57th to East 86th Streets.

Our Interior Design Studio and Gallery will portray a chic and eclectic style with sustainable American furniture pieces mixed with exuberant abstract paintings that elevate the natural beauty by Sebastian Vallejo and mystique Photographs of the vast American Landscapes by Marty Hulsebos while following the tremendous legacy of European and Latin Interior Designers. Achille Salvagni Atelier: 817 Madison Avenue
Premiering during NYCxDESIGN, “Shapes in the Echo of Time” is an exhibition centered around director Andrea Marini’s short film which creatively traces the inception of architect Achille Salvagni’s design concepts through to the completed works. Told from the perspective of Salvagni’s imagination, Marini set out to crystalize the technical precision in Salvagni’s designs and the historical elements woven throughout his furniture. The short features five of Salvagni’s most significant works: Emerald (table) Circeo (screen) Hera (cabinet) Divo (standing lamp) and Spider (chandelier) and focuses on how the genesis of an idea rapidly spirals into a concept that becomes the starting point of a new work. Art History 101: A Brush With Fashion
An installation of 21 art history-themed dresses on Madison Avenue from East 61 Street to East 77 Street
“Art History 101: A Brush With Fashion,” a series of art history-themed installations created by 21 BFA Design students in O’Callaghan’s class, as well as students of Dr. Carol Bentel, chair of Interior Design at SVA. Each student’s piece is showcased within an eight-foot Lucite case and features descriptions of the period of art history for which the “dress” was inspired. Art periods/movements featured include Analytical Cubism, Ancient Greek, Arte Povera, Arts & Crafts, Baroque, Bauhaus, Brutalism, Cubism, Dada, Gothic, Impressionism, Outsider Art, Pop Art, Sumi-E and Surrealism.
