Join Foscarini in celebrating NYCxDESIGN with a dedicated photography project by Gianluca Vassallo, artist, photographer and video maker for the 10th anniversary of the festival. The project illustrates the Uptown Floor Lamp designed by Ferruccio Laviani within the skyline of New York City in various iconic locations. Uptown will be on display within the showroom as well as Nile, Rodolfo Dordoni’s latest introduction for the brand and Chiaroscura design by Alberto + Francesco Meda, new Foscarini collaborators.
While Rodolfo Dordoni and Foscarini’s collaboration started over 30 years ago, Nile is the first newly designed product from the designer in decades. Playing on balance, Nile features consistency and lightness taking inspiration from the famous bust of Egyptian queen Nefertiti that inspired the product’s name. The light features two intersecting volumes- a small marble base and the large glass diffuser achieving balance between opposing forces.
The Medas were drawn to Foscarini for the brand’s innovation. Together they have introduced Chiaroscura, a triangular structure illuminator made of aluminum extrusions fitted with LED strips that emits direct light upwards and diffused light to the sides.
