Register to Join a Tour of Eventscape here on
Friday May 19, 5pm to 6pm or Wednesday May 24, 5pm to 6pm
Discover how Eventscape, an award-winning architectural fabricator, works with the latest technologies and materials to create custom design features. Jennifer Busch, Director, Client Partnerships, will lead a tour of Eventscape’s state-of-the-art studio in Long Island City and discuss how Eventscape’s diverse team can collaborate on your architectural vision from-start-to- finish, using any material, at any scale, to build the extraordinary®.
Also experience a special exhibition on the tour, “Lightweight Timber Structure for Florrisant Fossil Conservation.” Ester Hong-Fen Lo, Design Engineer will highlight the exhibit and provide details on Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument in Central Colorado, one of the richest fossil deposits in the world including many petrified wood stumps. Petrified wood stumps must be protected from direct precipitation and temperature change during the summer and winter. The proposed structural prototype is a lightweight, transparent timber structure to be installed as a prefabricated system on-site, preventing invasive construction processes and with minimized site perturbation. The smaller-scale prototype is built to test the fabrication process and the system’s efficacy in protecting the stumps by controlling the temperature. If successful, the concept will be scaled up to cover the stumps on the site. *Note: The list of credits for the exhibition are located below.
Tour Space is Limited: Register as soon as possible here.
