The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) – as part of its Brazilian Furniture Project – will host Casa Brasil, a sensory-packed exhibition of Brazilian furniture and design taking place in New York City from May 11-25 in tandem with Brazil’s presence at The International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF). Nowadays, the United States is the world’s largest importer of Brazilian furniture, with 35% of Brazil’s exports in the sector destined for North America.
Attendees of Casa Brasil will have the unique opportunity to experience sessions designed to tactically and experientially showcase the culture, furniture and design elements of Brazil through opportunities such as a dinner prepared by a Brazilian chef along with a selection of paired wines; a Brazilian wine master class with a world-renowned sommelier; a barista-led tasting of Brazilian specialty coffees and espresso and a cooking demonstration of authentic Brazilian cuisine, leveraging Brazilian kitchen and cooking-related functional furniture designs.
This is the founding year of Casa Brasil. The first floor of the exhibit space will feature furniture, seating, carpet and flooring, lighting, wallcovering, and textiles with products from different and Brazilian designers. Those who are interested, can visit the space at 477 Broadway/52 Mercer, New York, NY 10013
